First Nations Creative designed these stencils to help children explore Indigenous Australian culture through storytelling and art. They offer a fun, accessible way for young learners to express their own stories - even before mastering language or writing - fostering connection, creativity, and cross-cultural understanding.
These stencils help all children, especially First Nations children, to connect with family, community, and Country, while also fostering reconciliation by encouraging broader cultural understanding - understanding each other is always the first step.
“Here in Australia we’re fortunate enough to have one of the richest and oldest continuing cultures in the world. This is something we should all be proud of and celebrate.” – Prof Tom Calma AO - Kungarakan Elder & 2023 Australian of the Year - Human Rights & Social Justice Advocate.

These symbols are commonly shared across many Indigenous communities, though their meanings may vary slightly by region. While First Nations Creative have taken care to label them accurately within their mob, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung language group, differences may exist across other regions and language groups throughout Australia. We encourage you to engage with your local Indigenous community to ensure cultural accuracy, or we’re happy to assist in reaching out and can offer custom adaptations if needed. We can also discuss other cultural groups from different countries and islands, with their permission. Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss any custom options or adaptations: info@cantfindit.com.au.
